A board-certified dermatologist and New York native, Dr. Joanne K. Simpson received her medical degree (M.D.) from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed her dermatology training at the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Duke University as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she pursued an interest in clinical research and epidemiology.
Dr. Simpson is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgeons, Women's Dermatologic Society, and The American Medical Association, the Christian Medical and Dental Society, and the Washington DC Dermatological Society.
Dr. Simpson enjoys practicing all aspects of dermatology, with particular interest in skin cancer screening, acne, and psoriasis. Educating her patients about how to become their own best skin health advocate is her passion. She is also a skilled cosmetic dermatologist with expertise and certification in performing non-invasive cosmetic procedures, such as lasers, fillers (including Restylane and Sculptra), cosmetic botulinum toxin use (such as Botox and Dysport), Coolsculpting, Sclerotherapy, and skin care. Additionally, Dr. Simpson performs virtual visits through the Dermatologist On Call platform for those patients who are unable to be seen in person for their dermatology needs. Outside of the office, Dr. Simpson enjoys trying new recipes, boating and sailing, traveling to warm and sunny places, and playing tennis.
A board-certified dermatologist and Virginia native, Dr. Bray received his medical degree (M.D.) from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico and completed his dermatology training at the National Capital Consortium of Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Medical Center. He also holds a Bachelors degree in both in Biology and Spanish (B.S and B.A.) from Virginia Tech. Dr. Bray served as a physician in the U.S. Army for 8 years, including overseas tours in South Korea and Iraq. He worked as part of the teaching staff for the dermatology residency programs at Walter Reed and at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. Since leaving the Army in 2009, Dr. Bray has been a dermatologist in private practice and is one of the winner of the prestigious March 2016 Doctor's Choice Award for "Top Dermatologists in the northern VA/ metro DC area," as voted by his peers.
Dr. Bray enjoys practicing all aspects of dermatology, with particular interest in skin cancer detection and treatment, psoriasis, acne, rheumatologic diseases affecting skin, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Bray is a certified physician provider of Coolsculpting, Kybella, and Sciton lasers/Broad Band Light. He is an avid outdoors enthusiast, traveler, and lover of world foods and languages. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two active daughters, including snow skiing and running in races together as a family.
A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Anna Edhegard was born and raised in North Carolina and received a B.S. in Mathematics from Duke University. Following college, she briefly worked as a high school math teacher before completing both medical school (M.D.) and dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. She spent a year working in Washington DC before moving to Anchorage with her active duty Army husband. Though she enjoyed being in beautiful Alaska, she loves being in the Washington DC Metro area with her family. She has expertise and certification in non-invasive cosmetic dermatologic procedures, such as lasers, fillers (including Restylane and Sculptra), cosmetic botulinum toxin use (such as Botox and Dysport), Coolsculpting, Sclerotherapy, and skin care, as well as general medical and minor surgical dermatology. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities (with sun protection, of course!), cooking, baking, home improvement projects, and road trips. Driving from DC to Alaska, a 5000 mile journey, is one of her favorite memories.
